Etsy find of the day!

Today's find is sort of geared toward Alyssa. We were shopping together over the winter and she found a great vintage owl necklace. Now when I see owls, I think of her!  If you don't buy these, I bet she will!

Aren't these the cutest! Take a look at them here! They are only $8, which doesn't exactly break the bank. I think they are really fun and different. They are just enough of the 70's, but not too much. I don't want any of you looking like a hippie!

You deserve the greatest Saturday ever. Put your feet up, eat your favorite food and get lost in your favorite music. We all need some down time in our life!

Have you been to Paris? I remember when we got back from Paris I wanted everything that had the Eiffel Tower on it. Wait, I still do! It's just one of those places you never forget, don't you think? There wasn't anything about France that I didn't like. When I saw this, I decided that I will need to find a place for it in my home...

Go here and get one for yourself. If you haven't been there, put it on your wall and start planning. Lose yourself in Paris this summer for $15.95!

Salut!

This always reminds me of summer...

A love Caprese Salad! Have you made it yet this summer? I never make this unless I can buy fresh, organic ingredients. Last weekend I finally made it when we grilled out with friends.

Now run to your local grocery and get some ripe tomatoes, fresh mozarella, fresh basil, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar and put this together at your house. Don't forget to sprinkle some fresh sea salt over the top...it will bring out all of the great flavors!

Bon Apetit!

I love everything about this purse. The color combination is fabulous and it's a funky little statement piece when you don't want to carry a big purse. Throw in your cell phone, lip gloss and your debit card and you're ready to go.

If you're even a teeny bit interested in this, go to the site I linked you to quick! It's only $24 and it's the only one the seller has. It's too cute to pass up!

Keep shopping!

Etsy find of the day!

This pretty much says it all. As I've gotten older, I have realized the importance of being "real." It's what I look for in other people too. I don't care what kind of car you drive, how much money you make, how thin you are or what brand your purse is. Just be you. If being nice is part of being yourself that makes it even better. Be yourself because it's hard trying to be someone else. If you you have flaws, I will like you even more...it means I'm not alone.

I REALLY like this. Hang it on your wall and live by it.

Have a fantastic evening!

The Backyard.. Basically complete. Mini Pick-Me-Up #2.

Well. At long last the backyard is basically complete. We have a few more plants to get and areas to touch-up other than that we are basically complete. Yay!

Thanks to Eric, my Dad, Kai, and George the college student who helped out on this monster pick-me-up.

 Roll and cut. Repeat.

 Done.

Laying out the area for the fire pit... Someday soon we will be digging one into the ground. For now though we are using the one that my friend Lisa so graciously donated with the dog bone leg.

 Noodling some more.

 Cypress Mulch graveyard.

Ella watching the labor in her typical uninterested look.

 The mounds get dumped begin.

 Post raking. Nice..

Our new outdoor living room/dining room.

We moved some plants on Saturday and the rest yesterday. I'll take some more photo's after everything bounces back. Hope for some heat please!

Saturday night. A very tired Eric.

Tilling the weird triangle where we are going to move our hosta and lillies that are shown behind him.

The grape vine grown in.. you can see it here dead from winter.. ... and the hosta planted. Nice. Now to get our morning glory going again.

Now that the hosta and lillies were moved we can have our herb garden near the backdoor and kitchen! Yay!

The plants all moved and getting soaked.

Now back to my living room! A painting I will go.. a painting I will go..

Have a  great day!

Etsy find of the day!

Today I'm sharing a seller who offers wonderful prints for sale. I don't always share things that would be great in my home...I try to share things that other people might incorporate into their home too. Everything I share, though, I love. There are so many really special people on Etsy selling their things that it's hard for me to choose who to feature! Today I'd like to share with you a seller from Sydney, Australia called Olivedear. She only charges $7 to ship to the United States and if you love something, I don't think that price is bad.

To know me is to know that I love cats. What could be better than a print of a cat in a Herman Miller chair? Not much!

How cute is this? I think it would be precious in a kids room. Simple and cute!

And this! I want to decorate a nursery for someone and hang this on the wall!

Have you been shopping on Etsy?

Backyard update - Mini Pick-Me-Up #2 almost complete

We are almost finished with our backyard project. So exciting, I know. We can hardly wait and we can almost feel the cypress mulch under our feet.

It's flat. It's flat! I can hardly believe it is flat!

Check it out from this perspective. Flat again. Amazing. Ok, I know you are not impressed.  If you could see it in real life you would be impressed.

Well, with this much flatness in our world we decided to have a little christening with the fire pit. (Eric added the first pass of black fabric on our main walkway.) My good friend Lisa came over earlier in the night.. The Laura and Bear stopped by a bit later. We had a few bottles of wine a fire and some laughs for a wonderful evening.

The fantastic fire we got started from the first swish of the match.

Trouble & Hazel enjoying the new digs.

Peek. from behind 67 bags of Cypress Mulch. Yup. 67.

Later in the evening the fire was so hot we had some amazing blue flames.

Finally some s'mores... Lisa made a run home for the fixin's and I think it is going to be a must around our house as well.

Thanks for joining us at our inaugural fire in new backyard. This was last Wednesday. We have since added the mulch and have placed the furniture. Today we are moving all the plants later in the day and then I will post the final reveal tomorrow! Have a great Sunday.
